What is The Story Ark?

The Story Ark is:
a hub of content centred on book recommendations for children and those that read to them.
championing the power of literacy to transform lives through improved mental wellbeing, access to education, and the sheer pleasure of reading.
a place of refuge and escape through stories that warm the heart, ignite the imagination, and cultivate connection.
What kind of stories can be found on The Story Ark?
There will be a mix of books that I have discovered and enjoyed myself as a writer, parent and home educator, and books that my children have particularly engaged with. In time, I hope to offer more: classics, history, biographies, memoirs, autobiographies, children’s literature, fantasy, adventure, true stories, and more. This is a journey of discovery for me as well as for you!
They will be written by writers from history up to the present day. We can learn much by listening to the voices that have gone before. Generations need to benefit from the treasure trove of literature from the past. Equally, storytelling is as alive as ever with a new generation of talented writers leading the way forward.
Behind every story is a storyteller, so you will find author spotlights where I write a little about a writer I have discovered, and in some cases, hopefully have the joy of meeting them. Hearing their stories is a privilege. We all have a story to tell. I hope that it will give a deeper connection to the stories that we read and take in.
It is my hope that the stories found here can be enjoyed and experienced by everyone and anyone. I really believe in championing reading and literacy for all ages and abilities. It’s just finding one that inspires and ignites your imagination! Enjoy you time on board the Ark!
